New Board Members

Kewanee Schools Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of eight new members to its Board of Directors.  This brings the total number of board members to twenty-one.

All residents of Kewanee, they are as follows:  Teresa Bryner (Class of 1971), retired Kewanee High School secretary/library clerk; Breanne Cinnamon (2007), physical therapist at OSF St. Luke Medical Center; Casie Douglas, KHS Business Teacher and Instructional Coach; Kaleigh Good (2004), General Manager for Good’s Furniture; Mike Miler (2002), Financial Advisor for Edward Jones Company; Joline Oswald, retired KCUSD #229 teacher; and Brandon Yaklich, Professional Farm Manager for Hertz Farm Management.

Doug Currier (1981), Vice President of Operations – Assisted Living Division for Petersen Health Care, rejoined the board in September having served previously from 2007 – 2015.

We are very pleased to welcome these exceptional new Board members, who are all highly engaged within our community and have a history of supporting Kewanee Schools in a variety of ways. They will each bring new perspective and valuable insight as we continue our commitment to enhancing educational opportunities for students of the Kewanee School Districtstated Lori Christiansen, Foundation President.

The Kewanee Schools Foundation was established July 11, 1990 and is governed by a board of directors with expertise in elementary and secondary education, and in the business, finance and legal professions, who represent major interests and constituencies of Kewanee Community Unit School District #229 including the Board of Education, alumni, employees, retirees and local business community.
