Escape to Margaritavillle
IT’S SHOWTIME! KEWANEE SCHOOLS FOUNDATION SPONSORS “ESCAPE TO MARGARITAVILLE “
Set your mind on island time and plan your escape to Circa ‘21’s premiere of Escape to Margaritaville, the new musical comedy about choices we make and the people we become once we’ve had a change in “latitude”. Kewanee Schools Foundation is planning your escape on Saturday, August 26 to benefit Performing Arts Technology for the Kewanee School District. With music and lyrics by Jimmy Buffet, it is sure to be a popular event!
Guests will begin the evening by charter bus from the Kewanee High School parking lot with a relaxing and fun ride including games and prizes to the Circa ’21 Dinner Playhouse in Rock Island, Illinois. Once there, they will enjoy delicious hors d’oeuvres and one free drink at a Pre-Show Reception held in The Speakeasy, Circa ‘21’s secondary theater. A cash bar will also be available. During the reception, guests will have an opportunity to bid on 15 exciting silent auction packages, many with the Escape to Margaritaville theme. Guests will then enjoy a delicious meal with dessert in the Circa ’21 Dinner Playhouse, followed by the Bootlegger pre-show, and then treated to the exciting mainstage production of “Escape to Margaritaville” before traveling back to KHS in the comfort of the charter bus provided by Peoria Charter Travel. It is sure to be a fun evening for all!
The goal of the event is to raise $14,000 for Performing Arts Technology to benefit students as well as the community attending events held at Kewanee High School. The Performing Arts program includes theater, drama, band, choir, Group Interpretation, and speech, giving students the opportunity to express themselves in creative ways.
The general public is invited and encouraged to attend. Tickets are $145 each (before July 21) and $150 each after that date. But hurry, tickets are limited to the first 130 guests. The fair market value of each ticket is $125, with $20 donated to Performing Arts Technology.
Sponsorships are also being offered at the Silver Level for $1,000 and Bronze Level for $500. All Sponsors will receive their name in the Event Program and in publicity.
